FRIENDS OF BOOTI BOOTI
We remove noxious weeds, weeds of national significance and replant native species common to the area. We also construct walkways, fences to prevent damage by pedestrian traffic. Looking for volunteers.

OXYGEN FARM ASSOCIATION
Conservation of areas of ecological significance. Focus on carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, conservation of endangered species habitat and environmental education.

Maintenance and development of existing park lands and reserves.

GREENPOINT COAST CARE
We are aiming to restore and maintain the littoral rainforest in Green Point - mainly involving removing weeds and planting native species. As well as obtaining plants from the Great Lakes Council nursery we propagate plants ourselves from local seed. Looking for volunteers.

DUNE CARE

ONE MILE BEACH DUNE CARE
One Mile dune care and bush regeneration in the Forster Tuncurry area. Also remove damaging weeds. Willing to support other groups with supply of native plants and bush regeneration help in general.

TUNCURRY DUNECARE
We work on the dunes at Tuncurry beach planting indigenous plants and pulling out invasive weeds.

NABIAC LANDCARE
Landcare work on public areas and maintenance of Woosters creek. Focus on care of the environment and sustainable ecology, weed control, revegetation of native habitat. Looking for volunteers.

SMITHS LAKE LANDCARE
Remove invasive weeds from the dune and littoral rainforest areas, planting native dune species to enhance stabilization and re-establishing the littoral rainforest where damage has been caused by storms or human activity. Need new members. Plant identification and native vegetation management skills would be an asset but not essential.

COMMUNITY GARDENS

FORSTER COMMUNITY GARDEN
Bringing communities together to garden with focus on food production. Encouragement to educate and engage urban dwellers to grow food where they live. Donations of time and of physical inputs such as chemical-free green waste are most welcome.

VEGGYTATION PATCH AT FORSTER PUBLIC SCHOOL
At the Forster Public School a vegetable/herb garden and citrus orchard have been established to promote environmental education within the school. Children learn hands on about water conservation, permaculture, sustainable living and healthy food choices. A Bush Tucker Garden is next to provide indigenous environmental education and help support biodiversity for local area. The Tucker Up project is seeking funding and suitable community assistance in the hard yakka!

GENERAL VOLUNTEERS

CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS AUSTRALIA
Works in partnership with the Local, State, Federal government and businesses to assist more than 2,000 priority conservation projects. Achieves results, including planting more than 1 million trees a year. Provides training to more than 1,000 individuals and groups across Australia.
Is a member of the IUCN (World Conservation Union), the Federation of Youth Travel Organisations and a founding member of the International Alliance of Conservation Volunteers.

GREAT LAKES RURAL AUSTRALIANS FOR REFUGEES
We focus on asylum seekers and refugees; environmental refugees are increasing and our purpose is to help all those who seek assistance in another country. We need volunteers and donations to help with our work of:
a. assisting asylum seekers and refugees
b. increasing public awareness of the plight of refugees
c. urging politicians to help refugees
d. raising money for refugees and refugee legal advocates.
