Welcome to the website for the Great Lakes Climate Friendly Living Guide.
As most of you are already aware, climate change is a very real issue that will affect all aspects of our lives, especially those of our children, future generations and other species.
We all need to live somewhere, use transport and buy the things we need, but it's all about minimising our impact on the planet by deciding how we are going to live, travel and shop.
This Guide was put together by the Forster Tuncurry Earth Editors. We are a not-for-profit group that wants to show that there are many practical and positive ways to address climate change and reduce your carbon emissions. We would like to acknowledge the Worimi people, who are the traditional custodians of this land.
There are nine sections in the Guide, covering a diverse range of topics from transport and shopping to dining and home building. Each section contains plenty of practical ideas that anyone can use to start making a difference today. In addition, each section has its own local directory of ‘green goods’: environmentally friendly products and services available in the Great Lakes region.
You'll also find sections about us, about climate change, about what you can do to fight climate change, and how you can be included in the Guide.
The next few years will see many new and exciting technologies and
opportunities for a more climate friendly way of life. We encourage
everyone to embrace this time in history and be a part of a ‘sustainable
revolution’ for the benefit of all life on earth.
Best wishes on your sustainable journey,
from the Forster Tuncurry Earth Editors.
“A comprehensive guide for improving the environment and the state of the planet from what can be done in the home, to buildings and travel through to farming. If it isn't in the guide, there are links to just about everything on sustainable living.”
